December 2011 – Present

Senior Software Engineer
  • Bonneville Power Administration (BPA): worked on a team to develop an Outage Tracking System written in AngularJS with .NET Core. His major contributions include the development of a dynamic grid for displaying data while storing user preferences and the development of a service endpoints for the synchronization of data with an external system.
  • NFL Players Association (NFPLA): expanded skill set to include Microsoft Dynamics 365. His team migrated a ASP.NET MVC solution to the cloud in a Dynamics 365 solution and developed data migration and synchronization solutions.
  • Exelon Corporation – worked with a team responsible for the convergence of three subsidiaries websites into a unified design pattern. Responsibilities included converging forms, tools and calculators web parts, services, and configuration management.
  • Office of Secretary of Defense – developed custom Desired State Configuration (DSC) resources for the automated deployment of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server, Web Apps Server, and SharePoint 2013.
  • North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) – developed a SharePoint 2013 solution allowing users to navigate and interface with document libraries that reside on SharePoint 2007 farms without leaving the primary site. Additionally, Mr. Hettinger developed a SharePoint 2013 solution for the automated provisioning of site collections. Mr. Hettinger also developed a solution allowing centralized global navigation that uses a single managed metadata term set. Lastly, Mr. Hettinger assembled a script library for the installation of the moving parts of the site provisioning system.
  • Population Services International (PSI) – added functionality to an existing system that would extract and transform inventory-related information from client QuickBooks, upload said information to Microsoft Azure Blob Storage, where a WCF Service is notified and delivers data to customer for further processing. Also designed and implemented a Data Warehouse for PSI to store inventory-related data and give the customer ability to develop reports against it.
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) – Some examples of work with the FBI over 3 different projects include:
    • Designed a reusable framework to support the retrieval and display of search results and refinements for both SharePoint 2010 and 2013 in a non-SharePoint web application. This framework allowed for “pre-refining” by building complex Keyword Queries to issue to search service and return the most relevant results. This framework initially used jQuery to call a custom search web service, but was also adapted to use ExtJS to call a MVC API Controller.
    • Played an integral role in ensuring all of the moving parts of the system worked together correctly in order to produce accurate search results. The system leveraged several technologies including: SharePoint 2013 documents libraries and task lists, workflows, a SharePoint S2S App, web services, a web application, content enrichment, and timer jobs. Worked closely with fellow developers to keep environments up-to-date and working properly.
    • Developed a PowerShell implementation that handled setup and continuous deployments to development, staging, and production environments. These scripts supported SharePoint web applications, SharePoint service applications, Workflow Manager & Service Bus, web services, web applications, SQL Server database, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports, and SharePoint solutions (WSPs). This solution was highly configurable and separated to allow the deployment of assets without having to constantly update configuration.
    • Developed script libraries for maintaining servers running in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure clouds. These scripts facilitated the backup, shutdown, startup, and email notification of events. Additional scripts migrated VMWare virtual machines to the cloud.
    • Developed an Android Smartphone application that received updates when items were added to a SharePoint 2010 List.
